Jim Dougal was the highly respected coxswain of Eyemouth Lifeboat when he retired, aged 60, in 2004 after 32
years as a crew member, 9 as coxswain. During his service he received a letter of appreciation in 1983 and was
awarded a Silver Medal for Gallantry (the second highest RNLI award) in 1990 for leading the rescue of two skin
divers near St. Abbs in hurricane force winds.
