Iain Stuart Robertson, the musician, taught the devisor of this dance, Barbara de Winton, to dance. Barbara is
currently (2010-11) one of the 3 teachers at Bristol RSCDS Branch.
Iain Robertson (1920-1999) devised four dances himself and composed at least 14 tunes, including 3 of the 4
tunes recommended for The Robertson Rant (devised in 1949 by Mrs Douglas Winchester nee Robertson for her
family), the 4
th
tune being the traditional tune, Struan Robertson’s Rant, from northern England.
