Evelyn Ramwell has devised at least 40 dances including Heather Dewar. The   word   'quaich'   is   derived   from   the   Gaelic   and   means   shallow   cup   and   they   were   the   traditional   cup   of friendship   used   by   the   ancient   clans.   Quaichs   were   originally   made   of   wood   and   then   later   silver.   Galloway   Glass claim to have made the world’s first crystal quaich. The recommended tune for this dance is ‘The Duke of Gordon’.
