ALICE THE CAMEL (R4x48)  Morag Gent & Ian Thompson (2003)  Aurora 10 th  Anniversary Book  1- 2 1s cross down into Double Triangles position  3- 8 2s+1s+3s dance Double Triangles, finishing 1s on own sides facing up to 2s & 3s facing down to 4s for ...   9-16 All dance reflection reels of 4 on sides, Ladies giving LSh to start whilst Men give RSh 17-24 All set & cross, Men making arches & pass partner RSh, repeat back to own side with Ladies making arches 25-32 2s+1s dance a Poussette back to original places 33-36 1s cross RH & cast to 4 th  place as 2s+3s+4s step up 37-40 1s turn RH 1½ times to own sides 41-48 All circle 8H round and back Alice the Camel starts with: 5 humps (double triangle figure) 4 humps (reels of 4) 3 humps (arches) 2 humps (poussette) 1 hump (1s solo) She eventually finishes with no humps (circle) Because Alice is a horse!
This dance was written during the Aurora weekend at Dunolly Centre, Aberfeldy in February 2003 where Alice the Camel became the theme song of the weekend! It was published in the same book as The Elephant’s Stampede.
